Labour’s whole movement has a rich seam of experience and knowledge about the challenges the UK faces.
But we need not just to name the changes we want in order to bring about a good society. If we are to have real influence we need to be able to show in practical ways how change could work, and how we'll win public support for it.
Public ownership of water, reducing housing costs, providing good social care, transforming the democratic system, fair taxes – all will need exploration and careful work to be brought to life. And the energy, ideas and determination to do that exists within our movement.
As part of our work to help shape a ‘radical realist’ policy programme for Labour, we will be holding a series of policy assemblies and workshops for Mainstream members.
The first will focus on the values and priorities that should shape our work – so join us if you can. We want to hear from as many Mainstream members as possible in order to:
- Articulate what Mainstream stands for
- Identify the key areas of policy that we want to develop
- Co-create an inclusive policy process
Mainstream's Policy Assemblies are a space for our members to build power, share ideas and create the platform and policy for a bolder, broader and brighter Labour Party. Not yet a member? Join here to participate.
